I have the nerve to walk my own way, however hard, in my search for reality, rather than climb upon the rattling wagon of wishful illusions
Zora Neale Hurston
“The next time I feel the urge to criticize I will ask myself two questions: given the same circumstances and no hindsight would I have done better, and who asked me for my opinion in the first place?”
— The Zen Humanist
I had to post this quote because I fully agree. I’m not where I want to be myself. If I had it my way right now I would be engaged and working on my PhD with the highest paying job in the city. I’m too busy working on bettering myself. I don’t have time to gossip about other people and their flaws. I think that’s how everyone should feel. Stay in your own lane!
You have to be totally honest with yourself. Totally honest. Completely honest with yourself to see the way you’ve been carrying on. To see how your thoughts have been ruling you. Your mind has been telling you: ‘This is like this and this is like that. This is good, this is bad. This is right, this is wrong’. Being judgmental all the time, this is what has to be given up, totally and completely.

In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.
